More overseas news and this time it's for the First XI!
Our First XI overseas for the 2026 season is South African batting all-rounder, Oliver Whitehead. Ollie hails from Cape Town and is currently contracted to Western Province in South Africa's state system.
A schoolboy star for SACS High School, Ollie made a number of appearances in the Cape Premier League for the Sixers U17 side. His performances for the school and for Western Province U19 were enough to cement his place in the South African U19s side as they hosted the World Cup in January 2024, where he made three appearances for the junior Proteas.
Summer 2024-25 saw Ollie make his Cobras debut in the CSA T20 challenge Qualifier game, scoring a run-a-ball 40* in a fruitless pursuit of the Titans 182. He’d earlier picked up his first professional wicket, recent Proteas debutante, Dayyaan Galiem. A First Class debut followed just prior to Christmas 2024 against the Knights.
