West Chiltington & Thakeham Cricket Club held its annual awards evening at the clubhouse on Saturday 5 September, following the final Saturday league fixtures of the season. A full house brought together players from every section of the club, alongside many members and parents whose involvement made the evening a fitting celebration of a truly successful season. In their debut Premier Division campaign the First XI finished a quite incredible third in the county; the Second and Fourth XIs narrowly missed out on promotion; whilst the Third XI secured promotion under the guidance of Angus and Jack and will compete in Division 7 West next season! It was also a strong season for the women’s teams, with many new faces joining the club and an encouraging start to life as a new combined team with Slinfold Cricket Club - the Weald Willows - for which a separate awards evening is expected to take place. On the night however we were able to recognise the achievements of those who performed well for the Windmill Women (in the Slam) and our Soft Ball team.

Well done to everyone who managed to snag an award and huge thank yous to everyone involved in running the evening, the food, the bar and the entertainment!
