INTRODUCING THE WEALD WILLOWS

A brand new women's cricket team!

We follow up our inaugural year playing in the Sussex Women’s Cricket League with an exciting joint venture this year, bringing together the female forces of West Chilt and Slinfold cricket clubs to form a strong squad of first XI players under the banner of the Weald Willows.

This venture takes women’s cricket forward at both clubs; providing a solid base for growth of the women’s game.

We join forces too in the Sussex Slam Shield – giving new players, and up-and-coming youngsters, the chance of senior hardball cricket in a welcoming environment.

Weald Willows have their own logo and kit and can be found on Play-Cricket as an independent team; but of course the roots to both Slinfold and West Chilt are firmly laid and we look forward to this partnership enabling more women and girls to get playing at both clubs.

West Chilt women will continue to go it alone in the Women’s Sussex Slam Cup competition and Softball competitions. We may even face our partner club as friendly rivals in the Softball League.
