Saturday 9 October saw 100 or so members get together to celebrate a wonderful season and recognise the contributions and performances of many players and volunteers over the course of the year.
As well as enjoying fantastic food and great company, there was a hilarious five minute set from our resident comic Phil Martin who had us all in fits of laughter, and the club also raised significant money for our new three lane nets through a raffle and auction - thank you to those who donated prizes and auction lots, it is greatly appreciated.
Onto the awards. You can read who won what below, but of all the awards awarded on the night special mention must go to Sam Collyer who was awarded Club Person of the Year for his efforts on and off the field, particular his management of the Thakeham ground, his pitch preparation and of course being responsible for many of the photos you'll have seen this year, amongst many other things. He truly is an asset to the club. The Glover Award for the Young Player of the Year went to Adam Trees for a superb season both as captain of the succesful U16s and playing for the Second XI. And a new trophy donated to the club by the late Dudley Room for the Wicket-Keeper of the Season went to Charlie Tear, who as you may be aware was recently called up to play for Scotland U19s!
