At the recent AGM it was revealed that Simon Capel will be stepping down as Junior Chairman after four years in the role.
Everyone involved at the club would like thank Simon wholeheartedly for the tremendous job he has done over the past four years, overseeing a number of changes and challenges in the Junior Section – an ever-growing Junior Section. He’s been a real credit to the club and overseen a hugely successful four years.
In the last four years we have had SJCF winning sides, 'Champions League' winners, the SPP programme, rapid growth in the girls section, mixed cricket age group teams entered at every age level and most importantly huge numbers of children playing cricket, learning, improving and having fun! Last year we had over 250 children playing cricket in games and taking part on Friday night sessions. With help from the various age group managers and coaches, it's been a huge undertaking and the Junior Section and club are in a great place for all the efforts of Simon and team.
Thank you Simon.
In the short term, Daniel Barnes will cover Simon as temporary Junior Chairman however this position is now effectively vacant and we're looking for a new permanent Junior Chairman. If anyone would like to put themselves forward please do get in touch.
