Winter cricket for our smallest members

Updated: Jan 25, 2021

Dear Parents,

We trust you and your children are keeping safe and well over this Winter?

Traditionally, cricket for our youngest members has been kept to the summer months, but with so much time and training lost in 2020 we are looking to offer an energetic and fun block of indoor cricket activities in the new year, running up to the start of the season.

Coaches Tim Van Noort and Alan Smith will be putting on a variety of West Chilt Cricket programs from January to March on either Wednesdays or Fridays evenings 6pm – 7:30pm at the Arundel Castle Indoor facility.

  • Fridays from the 29th Jan for an 8-week program we are offering a league readiness course, aiming at developing essential skills for the Under 10’ and Under 11s as they approach the world of hard ball cricket and “if you're out, you’re out” rules. The cost of this is £120 for the whole course.

  • For the very youngest kids age 5-9, Tim and Alan are also offering a block of five fun Cricket nights on Wednesday evenings. Much like Tim’s half term camps, the focus will very much be on fun, cricket-based games and activities rather than the formal nets that older kids attend. A great opportunity to blow off some cobwebs and get the little ones running around for exercise and coordination development. The cost of this is £75 or £15 per week. Please speak to Tim about which dates you can make out of 13th Jan, 27th Jan, 10th Feb, 3rd Mar, 17th Mar.

  • Finally, there are a number of Wednesday evenings starting the 20th Jan allocated for some exclusive girls and women's cricket. More details of this will follow in separate publicity from the newly set up Women’s Cricket Committee.

Group sizes for all these are limited by the Covid regulations the venue must adhere to, so book early to avoid missing out on a place.

If you’re keen, please message Tim directly ASAP and let him know which you are interested in:

In the meantime, stay safe and have a happy Christmas!
